Life in George Bush's Amerikkka...

Here we see Santa Claus, symbol of Bush's theocratic Amerikka, predictibly yet chillingly 'greeting' passerbys with a Nazi salute. A living symbol of Bush's anti-Muslim jihad in Iraq, Santa's goosestepping presence on our public streets is no doubt particularly discomforting to minorities and women.

Why women, particularly, I don't know; but whenever employs the word "minorities" or any of it's analogues, one must now attach the phrase "and women" to it. In fact, I think my PC's grammer check does this automatically.

Jabootu's Bad Blogging Dimension

"Rambling takes (on mostly) movies, television shows, print media, etc. This will be informed by a conservative political outlook, although that's not what this is about."

My ass!

And yet he helped repell perhaps the greatest Martian invasion the world has yet known. That's grattitude for you. And as a woman can I say how offended and cranky I'm getting at all the things that are suppsodly offensive to me and at that those who would defend me without asking wether I found said thing offensive in the first place.

Wait, you have a Grammer Check, right? Where Kelsey Grammer looks over your article and offers suggestions about it? It seems he has a lot of free time on his hands right now, and he's pretty erudite, after all.

Or are you still using those antiquated computer 'grammar checks'?

Santa has also defeated the minions of the Devil, so he is not a force with which to be reckoned.

Now, to discuss the matter seriously, as an athiest with no interest in debating the existence of God, pro or con, and as a man who has political sentiments that fall to the left, right, and center of the playing field, I am less offended by Santa Claus than I am by two additional things:

1. The tendency of every high school metal band and every high school horror film maker to use the phrases "Satan Claus" or "Santa Claws" and think they are the first people in the world to do that; and

2. The fact that a perfectly good and crazy and violent ancient religion like Paganism, the traditional religion of my hardy anscestors from north Scotland, has been co-opted by hippies and new agers who turned it into a religion of sweetness and light and flighty talk about mother goddess, completely disregarding the fine tradition of human sacrifice, skull splitting, tribal warfare, and cannibalism that went with it.

Ooooh, crap, is it War On Christmas time already? I was so busy it slipped my mind. Geez, I think I completely missed this month's Liberal Conspiracy meeting.

I'd better hurry...all the stores that wish people "Merry Christmas" have probably already been sued.

I heard "Oh Come All Ye Faithful" in Safeway the other day; I almost choked on my shoplifted grape.
That's Arizona for you. In Seattle we were lucky to get "Jingle Bells."
